No musician likes to dwell in the past, but in the case of Solea the past is hard to ignore. Featuring former members of Texas is the Reason, Samiam/Knapsack, and Sensefield, this is a supergroup drawing from the biggest and best bands that punk rock and post-hardcore have seen. With their second release, a self-titled full length, Solea's future shines even brighter than their collective past.

The s/t record, produced by Ariel Rechstaid and originally released in Japan by Bad News Records, is comprised of catchy and accessible pop songs played by seasoned punk rock musicians. Drawing influence from guitar-driven indie rock bands like Dinosaur Jr. as well as classics like The Beatles, Solea is equally at home sharing shelf space with Pavement records as they are sharing the stage with Alkaline Trio, Rival Schools, and Thursday, having toured with all three. Straddling mid-90s alternative rock and punk rock, Solea is bringing together fans on both sides of the fence.

Since the band's inception in 2002, Solea has recorded a critically acclaimed EP with Steve Kravac (MxPx, Less Than Jake) and toured extensively throughout the U.S, Europe, and Japan. Now, with their s/t full length, it's obvious that Solea isn't interested in reliving the glory days - they're reinventing them.
