Music is in us all, but for some, it is all we are. Such is the case for 26 year old North Carolina based multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Will Goodyear. Emerging from leaders in the world of heavy music such as BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, HOPESFALL and PRAYER FOR CLEANSING, Will has focused his energy in a much different direction with his solo project, WILLIAM.

Tints and Shades, WILLIAM's first effort, was a collection of songs geared at bridging the gap between pop culture and the common man. His new album,
Surface the Vessel, promises a more cohesive sound from start to finish emphasizing the artistic ups and downs of day to day life in the varied moods within each song. Will draws from his experience in visual art conveying the complex growth and decay of color and texture in our lives through musical layering, contrasting tones and unconventional instrumentation.

The writing of this batch of songs started in 2004 when Will and his girlfriend Debra were told of the conception of their daughter, Ainsley (born August
2004), and serves as a diary of his thoughts and experiences as a new father. This lifestyle change is evident in the new sound of Surface the Vessel as much of the gloss and formulaic composition of Tints and Shades is stripped to reveal a realistic and sincere approach to song writing.
